2021 - A Year in Review

With 2021 coming to an end we thought it was a good time to sit down and look back on the year The Rehab Team has had, and what a year it was! Just a year ago, The Rehab Team didn't even exist, it was only an idea in our minds, a dream of ours to return home to Tauranga, New Zealand and set up a business of our own providing a different take on physiotherapy and how it can be accessed.

The Rehab Team was formed during our 2 week MIQ stay after living overseas for 7 years. It was a productive 2 week isolation - business name secured, logo finalised, website started and business plan developed. This happened often late into the night, while the days were left to entertain our young family within the 4 walls of our hotel room.

We formally started seeing our lovely clients in February with our in-home general physiotherapy and in-home neurological physiotherapy service based in Tauranga, Papamoa, Mount Maunganui and surrounds. Mike and Kaitlin were kept busy meeting local GP’s and specialists and forming working relationships with local businesses and support organisations.

In April, our Fit for Parkinson’s and Parkinson’s Hour of Power classes started in Tauranga and quickly followed by the Whakatane classes starting in May. May also saw the opening of our satellite clinic in Papamoa, where Michael works a few days a week out of Snap Fitness.

June saw our focus move to assisting older adult rehabilitation within local rest homes. We are proud to provide individualised exercise and rehab to our clients living within rest homes and care facilities with the aim of maximising their independence, daily function and their quality of life.

The second half of the year put us all into a bit of a spin with the few weeks of Covid-19 lockdowns and a change in the way we now provide our physiotherapy services. Despite this, The Rehab Team has flourished. We are so proud of what we have accomplished in the last 12 months and look forward to continuing to see The Rehab Team grow in 2022.  We realise that none of this would be possible without the support of our clients so thank you for reaching out to us and continuing to show your support in what we want to achieve.

We would like to wish you and your friends and family a lovely Christmas and Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you all in 2022, stay safe, have fun and enjoy the sunshine.
