How we work
Step One: Get in touch
The first step is to get in touch - the best way for this is using the online form here. If you would prefer to leave a phone message you can do so using 07 929 7171.
From your message, the Neurological Physio most suited to your needs will contact you. At this point, we are happy to answer any questions you may have before booking your first appointment.
Step Two: Your first appointment.
Before your first appointment, it is helpful to email through any previous specialist reports or hospital reports you may have.
The first appointment takes 60+minutes. This is where you can share any rehab goals, the symptoms you are experiencing and your Neurological Physiotherapist will complete a full assessment of your specific needs.
Following this assessment, your physio will discuss their assessments and a treatment plan will be discussed.
Step Three: Put it into action.
This is the part we love! This is where your Neurological Physiotherapist will work with you to complete your treatment plan based on your condition, your symptoms/impairments and your goals.
This looks different for everyone:
A block of rehab for a set period of time. E.g. 1-2 times per week for 6 weeks.
A short block of rehab then follow ups over a set period to ensure you remain on track with your rehab goals and independent home programme.
1-2 appointments to answer specific questions and make recommendations.
Ongoing weekly appointments.
Not sure if The Rehab Team and Neurological Physiotherapy is right for you?
Neurological physiotherapists have additional training and expertise in assessment, rehabilitation and exercise for neurological conditions. This includes anything that affects the function of the brain, spinal cord and nerves.
Common conditions Neurological physiotherapists work with include: Stroke, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Functional Neurological Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Spinal Cord Injuries, Muscular Dystrophy, Motor Neuron Disease, Ataxia, Neuro Oncology, Dystonia, Facial Nerve Palsy and more…
Regardless of your specific diagnosis, any change or damage to the brain or nervous system means that messages from your brain are not connecting to the affected parts of your body. This can result in symptoms such as muscle weakness, sensory changes, loss of function, altered balance or uncoordinated movement.
